The Rainbow Biot Sow Bug was developed on the tailwaters of the West by Utah fly fishing guide, Jake Ricks. Fish in many tailwaters make sowbugs the staple of their diet and this pattern seems to fool them nearly every time. The mix of translucence and various colors is virtually irresistible. Jake tells us that he once caught the same fish twice in about 10 minutes on this fly on the famous Lower Provo River tailwater. Sounds pretty irresistible to us!

Leech, Sparkle, Black

Leech, Sparkle, Black

Your price: $1.50

The pulsating action and unique light catching qualities of this black sparkle leech fly make it a useful pattern in most trout lakes around the world. It is most effectively fished on a sinking or intermediate line wherever trout may be cruising or suspended.

Gray Drake, Comparadun

Gray Drake, Comparadun

Your price: $1.50

The Gray Drake Comparadun provides a great mix of lifelike silhouette, visibility, and buoyancy. Many Yellowstone area fly fishing guides go straight to comparaduns when a hatch brings up actively rising trout. This fly pattern floats in all but the fastest and roughest stream currents and trout seem to prefer this fly to many of the traditional hackled patterns. Fly fishers around the world should consider this a staple fly where large gray mayflies are present.
